Hurricane came?

Irene did not make an impression at my house.  We had power the whole time.  Maybe a flicker or two but no big deal.  I do know that I was very lucky, some areas are still with out power today.  I hope if you were in the path I hope you were as lucky as I was.  I did not get as much stitching as I wanted to.  It was busy at my house we had six adults, one 5 month old, 5 birds, 6 dogs and one cat.  We did entertain ourselves by playing card games, board games, watching movies, reading, rocking the baby, and someone made these GREAT cupcakes(not me).  I did get some stitching done when most of the guests left yesterday.  I was kind of happy to go back to work today the walls were closing in just a touch.  I would really have to say Irene was a nice way to get some of my favorite people in the same place.

WHAT IN THE WORLD?

I am sure the world has heard of our interesting week we are having in Virginia.  First we had a lovely earth quake and after shocks to follow.  Second for this weekend it is going to be a hurricane.  I had such plans for this weekend.  It is the weekend before my birthday and we were going to have pool time on Saturday and beach time on Sunday.  Now we are going to have no power for Saturday and we will see what Sunday brings.  With that being said I have my little light that will hopefully allow me to see enough to stitch during the storm time.  If not I might go crazy.  I will keep you up to date on things at my house.

Pink snowman (lady)

Last week I started to stitch the Pink Snowman(lady).  My friend at work asked how could I even think about a snowman in this heat.  I said she's cute.  I am in the mood, besides it might make me feel cooler.  Well Saturday night I'm stitching away and I think darn I can't see that one pink at all.  So I went on the hunt for another pink.  I really did not like any of the ones I came up with.  So before fustration set in I had a cranberry skein left over that I had not put away yet.  I thought 'that will show up'.  Off I went to remove the first and second pink and began stitching with cranberry.  I like it much better.  I hope to finish it by the end of the week.  I need to get lots of stitching done this week because next weekend is full of family and beach time.

Hi Everybody!

I am so happy today.  I think it's the rush from the stash that came yesterday.  I ordered on Friday and it showed up on Monday.  You just got to love Shepherd's Bush.  They are not only the nicest people they fill and ship the orders lickity split.  I am posting just to keep you up to date.  Now because the stitching mojo is here I'm taking the hint and starting to stitch.  I will post more later.  I still owe you pictures from the weekend.

Until we meet again  . . . Cindy

Great!

Just a quick note. I had a great weekend. I finished two projects this weekend. The stitching fairies have paid me a visit. It felt so good to sit down stitch and actually stitch and even better to finish. It's late so I will post pictures on my next post.
Until we meet again. . . Cindy

Change.

I had my yearly check up yesterday. YUCK!  We all know the one.  Mine included blood work too.  This was only the second time I have seen my new doctor.  She is really funny and sweet. She even has a sense of humor which is a must with me.  I talked to her about my struggle with losing weight.  She wanted to do some test on my hormones.  She said if they are off the weight won't come off.  Now I am waiting to see what happens now.  She did change some of my medicine.  Hopefully some of the way I have been feeling will get better.
I have finished the little heart piece by Shepherd's Bush Keep Love.  It is a cute little piece.  I'm not sure why it took me so long to finish.  Now I'm not sure what I want to work on.  What are you stitching?  Any ideas for me?
I have been thinking of placing an order for the new things from Shepherd's  Bush.  The girls really have out done themselves this time.
I hope your week was a good one.  I hope your weekend is even better.

Until we meet again...Cindy

OH MONDAY

It is Monday which means we have to go back to work.  How was your weekend, other than hot?  It seems like all over the country as been feeling the heat.  Well we hit the pool for just a little while on Saturday because it began to rain.  Inside it was all smiles. Emily stayed with us until late into the evening.  She is such a happy little girl.  The only time she even thinks of fussing is when she is hungry.  With Emily keeping us busy there was little time to stitch.  I'm not complaining just explaining why I did not get any stitching done.
On Sunday we slept a little late so that put us running our errands late. We had lots of little errands nothing huge.  Our last stop was grocery shopping which I don't think anybody likes doing.  After we got home we spent some time in the pool.  And yet again no stitching done.  I think my mojo has taken a vacation.  Maybe it will make a pit stop at my house tonight.
Until we meet again. . . Cindy

So it's Friday.

I made it through the first week of August with just the blues.  Hey that's good for August.  I love to tell you I got loads of stitching done this week, but I didn't.  My mood has been yucky.  I am trying but it's the little things that get me down.  Yes I do realize that I am super sensitive right now.  But have you noticed how many people are so wrapped up in them selves to even notice that small gestures can help someone who is down.  A kind smile, holding the door open, and just remembering to say pleas and thank you, these things cost nothing and yet mean so much.  Do you notice people around you?  I know I try to say please and thank you, smile, at least nod and hold doors for others.  I also know I'm not perfect at it sometimes I too am so wrapped up in my thoughts I forget to be kind. I have begun to ramble.  Sorry about that.  I have just noticed how some people around me have been acting like they are the only ones in the world.  I'm lucky it's people I learned along time ago I could never count on for anything support.
Now that I have rambled on about that.
Let's talk stitching I am almost done stitching the 12 Monthly Musings by Shepherd's Bush.  I have Hive and Leaf to finish.  I started Hive and I just couldn't get the stitches right I put it in three times and have to take it out three times.  That's when I decided to set it aside and work on something small that would work up fast.  I started Keep Love by Shepherd's Bush.  It would be if I would actually pick it up and work on it.  It spent last night just hanging out in my lap looking at me.  And this afternoon I felt a lovely headache coming on so I have tried to stop it in it's tracks.  My plan is to work on it tonight and finish it.  Tomorrow my hubby and I are going to travel to the Williamsburg outlets.  Crazy I know.  When we made the plans we did not realize it was tax free weekend.  We would go next weekend but he may have to work.  So we are hoping to get there early get what we need and get out.  Luckly we only need and couple of things.  I would order online but then I would miss going to the cross stitch shop up there.  So for me it's a win win.  We will head home to the pool.  Hopefully there will be no rain.  But if there is rain that just means stitching time.

Wow in spell check I realize this is a long post.  Sorry I felt like being chatty.  If you want to drop me some comments I would love it.  They can be good, bad, on stitching or not.  I would love to hear from you.

Until we meet again.. .Cindy

WARNING!

IT'S AUGUST!  I'm sure most of you are going okay so what, but those who know me know this is not my favorite month of the year.  And that is being nice.  I really have come to wish from August 1st to September 1st there was a delete button. It seems to always bring bad things.  I am already experiencing some of it and it is only the first day.
I will try to update you on July.  I have finished a couple more of Shepherds Bush's monthly musings.  Only two more to go.  I have worked on the Mystery Sampler as well, not much to show but every stitch counts.
And I hate to say it but that's it for the stitching side.
On the personal side all has been quiet.  I like it like that.

If you don't hear from me it is August working is wonders.

Until we meet again...Cindy
