I did it!

Do you remember in my last post when I was trying to get hubby to go see Harry Potter?  Well, I did it!  I bought tickets today to go in the morning.  I am very excited.
I have been on vacation this week.  Before you ask it was sort of a staycation.  Hubby and I did travel north to visit a few places we like.  A couple of cross stitch shops for me and motorcycles shops for him.  We were very happy.
I did get some stitching on the drives.  This lead to two finishes.  They are small but a finish is a finish.  I have been working on my Mystery Sampler while at home.  Here are some pictures.  I have included Summer Flies my finish from last week.

Oh and my son had some friends over today.  I made cupcakes.  The good news they look really good the bad news I ate one.  I just have to adjust my points for the day.  Because it was really GOOD!

Well it's that special day!

Hi everyone!  Today is Friday one of my personal favorite days of the week.  Today is extra special because as of 6:00PM  I am on vacation.  (HAPPY DANCE HERE)  My hubby and I are going to do somethings together.  First on Sunday we have planed a trip to Corolla to hang out at the beach.  On Monday we are heading a little North to check out a Triumph dealer(motorcycle) which just happens to be down the street from In Stitches.  I don't know how that happened :).  Anyway this way we both get a fix of our favorite kinds of stores.  I am also exciteing about goin to Ikea.  I have never been in one of their stores so Im at least going to check it out.  We will piddle around up there for a bit and then home again.  I think we are going to take the dolphin tour down at the beach.  I have lived here all of my life and have never done a tour like that.  Of course I am trying to talk my hubby into taking my to see the new Harrpy Potter movie on Friday.  I'll let you know if I can talk him into it.  I of course plan on stitching too.

I am very happy to be stitching, I got my new glasses.  I can SEE!  My eye doctor said my eyes were not that bad they just weren't working as the team they use to be.  One sees up close the other far away, and this worked for a long time now they say no more.  I could see without them but it is so much better with them. A year ago I started wearing contacts but they weren't very good.  These new glasses are very clear, light weight, and stylish if I say so myself.

So with new glasses planted on my face I picked up my Mystery Sampler last and went to town.  I was sad to  put is down and go to bed.  But I left some needles threaded and ready to go for tonight.  I can stay up a little late tonight but not tomorrow because we are getting up every for the beach.  On my next post I will upload a picture of my progress.

Oh My I almost forgot I have a finish.  I was working on Summer Flies by Shepherds Bush and Finished on Wednesday of this week.  It's so cute.  Love those quickies.

Until we meet again.. Cindy

Fireworks!

I hope everyone had a Happy and safe 4th of July.  We did at my house.  Let's see on Saturday I went to breakfast with my hubby then to the farmers market.  Hubby had not been to this farmers market.  I spent my limit $20(not really a limit) I just seem to only spend that every week.  The corn was wonderful!  Anyway side tracked there.  At home waiting was my daughter and her boyfriend and of course my grand pup.  We hung out by the pool most of the day, cooking hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch.  Then hubby and I went to my bosses' house for pizza on the grill, yummy!  On Sunday we had our garage door fixed.  Then hung out by the pool until late in the afternoon.  Instead of the daughter's boyfriend it was the son's girlfriend and her friend very nice young ladies, my daughter and grand pup.  On Monday I did some cooking for the BBQ where boyfriend, girlfriend, son, daughter, daughter's best friend, her little cutie, and girlfriend's friend were all over the house and pool for dinner.  It really felt like a 4th of July.  We even watched some fireworks.  Unfortunately they were Mother Nature's fireworks, but we needed the rain. I can see the wheels turning stitching, when did she do that.  I didn't.  I do feel a like bad about that but there really was no time or place to stitch this weekend.  But as I write this my stitching is beside me and as soon as I sign off here I will be on it and possibly even have a finish.  Keep your fingers crossed for a finish I haven't had one in a while.

Until we meet again . . . Cindy
