Stitching groove

Hi!  I found my stitching groove today.  After work I planted some herbs in my garden and then I thought 'Ooo I think I want to stitch'.  I have been stitching since then.  I'm a happy girl today!

Sorry bad blogger

Hi long time no blog.
I wish i could say i was so busy stitching and finishing i had no time to blog.  but I can not tell you that.  I have spent most of the time lately getting use to working again and juggling life.
My mom had shoulder surgery a about two months ago.  I have been trying to be a good daughter and help out at her house with chores and such.  My dad has had a tough time getting use to not having coffee with me in the morning.  I miss it too.  I think my dad was happy spending coffee time with me.  I know I did.
I get up at 4am to go to work.  I do get off and 1:30 but by then I am ready for a nap.  By the time I get home and do a few chores, work out, and have dinner there so very little time for stitching.  I am trying to improve my time management.
In the morning I am going to the farmer's market and come home and spend some quality time with needle and thread.

Happy Stitching!!

I got a job!

After my father in law past I applied for a job at the Chesapeake Lifestyle Center.  I got the job!  It took almost two months to go through the process but... I GOT the JOB!  I stopped working to be with Grandpa and I'm so glad I did. I have great memories that no one else does.  I wasn't sure what to do after he pasted.  I was sort of at a loss, literally.  The office manager said I should apply, so I did.  The hours are prefect, Monday thru Friday 5:45AM to 1:30PM.  I know that might be early for some but I'm up that early anyway so now I might as well be at work.

Ok so I have also been able to stitch some.  While I was in Washington I bought a magazine, Enjoy Cross Stitch.  It came with lots of supplies to stitch the projects inside.  I have stitch two of them so far.  They are quick and easy so I feel like I have accomplished something.  I have also sewn a tea towel and working on an apron.  I need to take some pictures and show you but for now I don't have any.  I have been working on CC Santa's Village.  Boy, that's been a challenge.  I think I have spent equal amount of time stitching and unstitching. I have finished the first four and working on the fifth one, The Stocking Shop.

Are you planning on stitching for Mother's Day?  I am planning a shopping day but I hope to get some stitching in too.

Happy Stitching!

Allergies

We went to Washington over the weekend. I left my father in law to be laid to rest. It was long weekend to say the least.  I did take stitching but didn't touch it.  I haven't since we've been back either.  I'm not sure what is wrong with me but I just can't seem to bring myself to do it.  I have however read three books since last Friday.  Today, however, I haven't even been reading.  I awoke with a major allergy attack.  My head pounding, sinus stuffed and all over yuck feeling.  I took something to help and it did the pain and the stuffiness have subsided some but the fog has replaced them.  I have had allergies before but today is an attack I have not had before.  I hope it is just because the levels are high and not because I'm getting more allergic. Is that the correct grammar? Well, I off to veg out.  I don't think I can handle anything else. :)

In honor of my up coming trip to Seattle

I like to explore the Internet for odd little facts about needlework.  I came across this little ditty   "In Seattle you haven't had enough coffee until you can thread a sewing machine while it's running. " ~Jeff Bezos.  It kinda fits me lately.  I quit drinking soda, which I loved, last year.  But I found sometimes I needed that little kick of caffeine so I had a coffee.  It went from having one once in a while to I almost can't wait for the pot to brew my cup in the morning.  On the days I go to the gym I find myself thinking how many minutes until I can have my cup of coffee.  I now LOVE my cup of coffee!

I finished Shepherds Bush's My Stitching bag.  I also have been working on CC Santa Village.  I was a half a stitch off, I took out the mistake, I restitched and guess what, I made another mistake that I needed to take out again.  So I worked on another spot.

The weather has been absolutely a gorgeous week. Warm, sunny and just enjoyable.  I worked in the yard so this week.   I brought out some of the summer furniture that goes around the pool.  I was going to sit outside and stitch but I just found myself just sitting and enjoying the sun.  But today they are calling for storms so I will sit inside and stitch.  Hopefully finish CC Mrs. Claus cookie shop.  Wish me luck.

Thanks for all the comments, I love getting them!  :)

Struggling and busy

Hi!  I have been struggling with what to do now. So I have been stitching both cross stitch and quilting.  My father in law passed last month.  He was a major part of my daily life.  So I have been trying to figure out what to do with my days.  I spent a few doing nothing, a few quilting, and a few cross stitching.
 Quilt for My dad's friend

LHN Flock Hope and Love

CC Santa's House, Poinsettia Place and North Pole Post Office

I have started CC Mrs Claus' Cookie Shop but I found I am a half of a stitch off.  I have to do some unstitching.  I also received LHN's third sheep in the flock.  I also am waiting sort of patiently LHN Orchard Valley Stitching Bee and Hometown Holiday.

I have to travel to the west coast this month.  It will be a long trip for a short visit.  I am wondering what to take to stitch on the plane.  I can't wait to see which one it is.

Happy Stitching!

have you shopped?

Hi!
The Nashville Show is over, have you increased your stash?  I have seen some really cute things from this market.  I did do a wee bit of shopping.  I didn't go crazy.  I have in the past just bought everything in sight.  But I think I had great self control this time.  Of course I found it easier to control myself by shopping on line.  There is something to being said for seeing it in person.  I compare it to chocolate, I'm OK with not buying and eating it until i smell then I have to hurry far away from it or I would be buying the whole lot.  If you have bought what did you buy?  I bought the new Lizzie Kate charts.

Happy Stitching!!
